# Browse your data - Python SDK

> Move from workspaces to properties with dot notation, lists, or a readable ID

The browser walks **workspaces → products → items → properties**. Each level is a [readable ID](/user-manual/readable-ids), the same identifier you can copy from the Poelis UI.

## Dot notation

Paste a path, or build it one level at a time. In a notebook, autocomplete is available at each level. Editor-specific tips are on [Notebooks and scripts](/python-sdk/notebooks).

print(mass.value, mass.category, mass.unit)

## List what exists

Use `list_*().names` when you want the readable IDs at a level before you open one.

# Workspaces you can access
poelis.list_workspaces().names

# Products in a workspace
ws = poelis.demo_workspace
ws.list_products().names

# Items in a product (top-level / root items)
prod = ws.demo_product
prod.list_items().names

# Child items under a specific item
item = prod.some_item
item.list_items().names

# Properties on an item
item.list_properties().names
```

## Get a property by readable ID

mass = poelis.demo_workspace.demo_product.get_property("demo_property_mass")
print(mass.value, mass.category, mass.unit)
```
